CHI is energy or universal life force. Allthough chi cannot be seen (like electricity or radio waves) it is all around us. Chinese philosphy has developed many theories based on the belief that the key to a healthy life depends on the quality of your chi. It is believed that the more freely the chi flows throghout our body or home - the better, while blockages in the flow of chi may manifest in physical and/or mental illness.
Just like in acupuncture, the feng shui practitioner aims to open such blockages taking into account that the chi in our living environment has a direct influence on our physical being.
In our experience FS cures can enhance and improve almost any difficulty one may encounter. The results may not be seen immediately but over a period of time the influence is vast. We have assisted people facing job and financial instability, experiencing health and relationship problems, failing to sleep well in addition to coping with a family member that does not feel comfortable at home or having a child doing poorly in school. People use feng shui to achieve a sense of holistic design, harmony, and comfort throughout their working and living environments.
The Ba-gua is an energetic map divided into 9 sections which is superimposed on one's floor plan. Each section represents a different area in one's life. (For example: Career, Marriage, Wealth)
When moving into a new apartment, it's important to know who has lived there before and why they moved. If they moved because of money problems or moved to a smaller apartment, this could be a problem with the feng shui of the apartment that the new tenant will also experience. Also, pay attention to your intuition when you go into a new apartment for the first time and see how you feel. It is possible to get more information from various books but these can also be confusing. To better assess the property you should consider getting professional help. Consulting a professional feng shui practitioner is similar to being checked by a doctor and getting the correct prescription for the problem. An accurate diagnosis and cure can make all the difference.
The first impression you get from someone's home is when you walk through the front door. The same thing happens with chi. Shoes scattered near the front door can confuse the chi, especially as it enters your space.
Clothes and shoes in your bedroom can disturb your rest. It's best to put your clothes and shoes away before you sleep. Not only do these items carry the active yang energy from the outer world into your relaxed yin space, but visual clutter usually can also create mental clutter. It's important to keep your bedroom free of items and as minimal as possible. The less stuff the better.
Originally, buildings were designed with the bathrooms outside as outhouses. This makes sense as it's preferable to keep that kind of energy outside of your living space. Also, bathrooms have many drains with water that tend to attract chi that is ultimately flushed away. In feng shui, water symbolizes money, so then you have money going down the drain. There are several ways to use feng shui to "ground" the chi so it stays in your home or office.
Squeaky doors, peeling paint, leaking faucets, broken items and burned out lightbulbs should all be taken care of immediately since they send the message that "you don't deserve anything better".
Many people tend to hang or store things behind doors. In feng shui, doors represent opportunities in one's life, so it's important that all doors in your home or office open fully to allow opportunities to come your way.
